For Elvira Ferraro, it’s all about her customers, and it has been for the past 40 years. Since 1977, she and her husband Anthony C., have owned and operated a Beltone a hearing-aid store at 23 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Elvira says it’s easy to serve her customers when she can offer quality products and a valuable service. She runs the show at her Beltone location. She tests people’s hearing and fits them with hearing aids. They service hearing aids that people have purchased from them previously. She even visits people in their homes and at nursing homes and assisted living centers.
Hers is a family-run operation; her son manages the business side of the house while she sees patients. She has seen the business change over the years, as technology has made hearing aids digital, lighter, and more cosmetically appealing.
But what hasn’t changed: her mission to to always make her patients as comfortable as possible and provide compassionate and comprehensive hearing care. She says that’s the key to running a successful business for the past 40 years.
“I get up every morning, and I know I can help someone hear better. I want you to love your better hearing,” said Ferraro, who serves on the governor’s hearing aid sales advisory council.
“You have to love it,” she said. And it’s clear that she does.
