Hearing Aid Technology: Hearing Aid Apps

Did you know that there is a hearing aid app that works on your iPhone® or Samsung Galaxy® phone? It is an easy and discreet way to make changes to your hearing aid settings. Without pressing any buttons on your Beltone Legend™ hearing aids, you can:

  • change the volume
  • change programs
  • change bass and treble
  • mute the hearing aids.

To others, it will look like you are just doing something on your phone.

The Beltone HearPlus™ App also allows you to save settings to a GPS location by creating a Favorite. I’ve found that users enjoy this feature to make their hearing aids more customized to their individual needs. For example, if you go to a noisy restaurant on a regular basis and prefer your Restaurant program for that environment, the hearing aids can automatically switch to that program whenever you enter that GPS location.

You can have a Favorite setting saved for all of your regular locations, for example: religious gatherings, your daughter’s house, and the grocery store.

Have you ever misplaced your hearing aids?

The Beltone HearPlus™ App can help you find the last place your hearing aids were turned on using Finder. Simply open up the app to see where your hearing aids are located on a map or by gauging how close or far away you are from the hearing aids. It is often comforting to new users knowing they are connected and have this safety feature to fall back on if needed.

Do you have tinnitus?

Beltone also has the Tinnitus Calmer App. According to the American Tinnitus Association, approximately 20 million Americans have tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. For those that are very bothered by tinnitus, sound generators create distractions from the ringing in the ears and are often helpful in managing the negative reactions to this disorder.

This app may be downloaded and streamed to Beltone Legend hearing aids, directly with the iPhone connection or using a Phone Link 2. It can also be used with table-top speakers at the bedside for soothing sounds as you are going to sleep.

For those users without an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy product, the Beltone Smart Remote app is a nice addition to the Phone Link 2. This will allow changes in the programs and volume by using your Android® devices.

Integrating apps into your treatment plan ties all of your devices seamlessly together for full control of your wireless network. As always, your local Beltone professionals are happy to walk you through these options.

I bought my Beltone hearing aids about 4 hears ago and my Hearing Aid professional tells me that they are compatible with “Hear Plus. However, My Samsung Smart J700 phone and Google Play don’t find the “Hear Plus” app.

When I search for the HearPlus app on my phone through the internet, the response comes back that it is not compatible with my device version.

Do I need a Hearing Aid firmware updat, or 4is there something else I need to do.

      Hi Bill,

The Hear Plus app is not compatible with the Samsung Phone mentioned. Or the Hear max app. Samsung Galaxy 4-9 and the Notes 4&5 are compatible.
Hear Plus app works with LND and FSE.
The phone mentioned could use the Smart remote app which requires a phone link 2.

      Thank you.
